State of New Mexico Department of Insurance Requirements
  • Licensees are required to complete 15 hours of continuing education annually. One hour must be of ethics.
  • Licensees are required to complete c.e. by September 30.
  • Licensees are responsible for reporting completion of c.e. to the state insurance division by April 1. All original paperwork must be sent to P.O. Box 1269, Santa Fe, NM 87504 with a $15 fee to NM Insurance Division.
  • Exams must be monitored by a disinterested third party.
  • Courses are repeatable every 3 years.
  • Excess credits may not be carried forward.
  • Failure to comply with the c.e. requirement results in license suspension.

    • Exam must be proctored by a disinterested third party
    • Proctor must be present during entire length of final exam
    • After completing and submitting exam online, a downloadable version of the Affidavit for Test Administrator form must be printed out from the computer which the exam was taken and signed by the proctor.
